Thailand TESOL is a professional non-profit and non-political organization established under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra. Its purposes are to strengthen English language education at all levels, to undertake research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages, to offer scholarships, to disseminate information, and to cooperate in appropriate ways with other groups having similar concerns. Thailand TESOL is composed of volunteers who are teachers of English at all types of educational institutions in Thailand. The executive committee includes ten advisory board members, past and immediate past presidents, and executive committee (President, Vice President, Secretaries, Treasurer, Webmaster, Publication, Public Relations, International Affairs, and Membership Coordinators), five members-at-large, and nine local affiliate chairs. Thailand TESOL’s regional affiliates are located in Chiang Mai, Pitsanuloke, Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Cholburi, Nakhon Prathom, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Songkhla.
Now, Dr. Thanakorn Thongprayoon who is the dean of the International College for Sustainability Studies of Srinakharinwirot University is the current president of Thailand TESOL. Its temporary office is International College for Sustainability Studies, Srinakharinwirot University 114 Sukhumvit 23, Klong-toey Nua, Wattana, Bangkok Thailand 10110.
Thailand TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL, Inc. in the USA; IATEFL in the UK; JALT and JACET in Japan; Korea TESOL, KATE and ALAK in South Korea; PALT in the Philippines; ETA-ROC in Taiwan; TEFLIN in Indonesia; MELTA and PELLTA in Malaysia; CamTESOL in Cambodia; SEAMEO-RELC in Singapore; NELTA in Nepal, and Asia TEFL.
Thailand TESOL members are people who are concerned with the teaching of English to speakers of other languages at any educational level. They are from all over Thailand and the world.
